The hotel
With the help of a select group of renowned craftsmen, visionary decorator Pieter Porters succeeded in revealing the heart of this protected 18th-century mansion and gave the building on the Paardenmarkt (Horse Market Square) back its stately appearance.
A magnificent town garden with sun terrace, a majestic magnolia tree and beautifully crafted herb garden render the whole a hint of paradise.
Though the spicy fragrances have long evaporated, the oldest part of this noble hotel used to serve as a tobacco trading house until the Second World War.
Authentic
The building abundantly exhibits its authenticity. The old floor tiles, marble mantelpiece and immense doors, unified into a luxurious home for gastronomes and hedonists by the artistic hand of Pieter Porters, naturally bring you into higher spheres.

The armchaires and fireplace in the parlour intensify that exquisite feeling. The aesthetic predilections of the Recour familiy are not limited to baroque interiors and romance, though.
